George Tsalikis - Biography

Biography

George Tsalikis started his music career in the early 90's, eventually starting his own project, Zandelle, which came into being in 1996 with the release of the self-titled debut 6-song EP. This was quickly followed by Zandelle's 2nd independent release, "Shadows of Reality". It wasn't long before George and the rest of Zandelle (after several line-up changes) got signed and released "Twilight on Humanity", featuring the hit opening song, "Warlords of Steel". This was followed by the album "Vengeance Rising" and then "Flames of Rage", the latter featuring two music videos... one for the title track and one for "Dark Nemesis".

These were Zandelle's first attempts at music video production. These releases earned George and the band their very first European tour. Upon returning from the tour, George and the rest of Zandelle got to working on a throw-back album featuring a re-recording of most of their songs from their first two independent releases. The album was entitled "Shadows of the Past" and featured one new song called "Scream My Name" which the band shot a music video for. George went on to release his final album under Zandelle called "Perseverance". Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond his control, Zandelle would dissolve.

George then decided to start a new project. This time it would be a solo project and his first album would be something he had always wanted to produce... a concept album. And that he did. His first solo album was entitled "The Sacrifice" and was set in a world where vampires hunted their prey in the dark of night. As if that weren't ambitious enough, George set out to film a video for each and every song on the album so that it can be viewed like a movie. He succeeded and the entire collection of videos for "The Sacrifice" could be seen on his YouTube channel (YouTube/GeorgeZandelle).

But now came the time for George to return to his Power Metal roots by writing and recording a new album, aptly named "Return to Power". What made this album different from any previous ones was that this time George was determined to record all the instruments himself with the exception of the drums. For that, he could not think of anyone better than his old band-mate from Zandelle, Joe "Jofu" Cardillo. After recording all the songs, he sent copies to Jofu to quickly learned the material and laid down his drum tracks. The result is a pure Power Metal masterpiece, guaranteed to thrill any true fan of the genre.
